What ꏙ means
Its standard romanization is “rur.”
The spelling names the syllable, not its translation. A font without Yi characters may show ꏙ as a box.
Traditional Yi script, once called Cuan or Wei, used local signs for words or ideas; bimo priests passed down religious, magical, medical, genealogical, and historical texts. Tradition credits Aki with devising it in the Tang dynasty (618–907); the oldest survivor is a bronze-bell inscription dated 1485. A Latin-based Liangshan spelling appeared in 1956; the standardized syllabary, drawn from older Yi forms, was devised in 1974 and promulgated in 1980 for Liangshan Yi alone. These signs resemble Chinese characters but are not considered derived from them.

Questions people ask
1Why does ꏙ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
