What ꊆ means
It contributes a syllable, not a translation. “Wuop” is the Latin-letter spelling; context in Nuosu gives a word meaning. Liangshan writing is a syllabary, a system of signs for syllables, adapted from older Yi writing. Bimo, Yi ritual specialists, copied texts on family ancestry, world order, fortune-telling, healing, and heroic stories.
A bronze bell from 1485 is often cited as the earliest surviving dated Yi evidence; paper and sheepskin texts survive from around 1500. The Liangshan standard was devised in 1974 and became official in 1980. Older regional Yi traditions differ in signs, sounds, and readings, so this modern reading does not fit every historical text.

Questions people ask
1Why does ꊆ show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
