What 𜼧 means
Place it after the neume it modifies.
𜼧 is a combining mark, so it needs a base neume. A neume is a written cue for a sung melodic figure, not a note on a five-line staff.
What does lomka change?
On a chashka neume, it changes the melodic direction.
Znamenny chant notation, also called hook notation, grew on medieval Rus lands from Byzantine notation, a system of signs for church chant. Its oldest surviving musical manuscripts date to the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries. Early neumes reminded singers of melody shapes learned by ear; later notation added pitch marks, including red-ink cinnabar marks in the 17th century. Staff notation and multipart singing displaced much of it in mainstream Russian Orthodox churches in the late 17th century, while Old Believer communities—Orthodox groups that kept the older rites—and some parishes preserved the tradition.
Why does lomka appear in different places?
Its drawn position varies across notation sources.
Some code-chart drawings place it above and to the right; examples from one notation tradition put it below-left of the neume. That layout difference reflects source conventions, not a different character.

1Questions people ask
1Why does 𜼧 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
