What 𑜹 means
It was adapted from the Burmese numeral for nine.
The oldest surviving Ahom text is the Snake Pillar inscription, from King Siuw Hum Miung's reign (1497–1539). Ahom writing also appears on stones, coins, brass plates, and manuscripts about chronicles, divination, omens, Buddhism, and priestly work. The 1920 Ahom-Assamese-English dictionary helped revive written use.
Traditional Ahom numbers mixed digit signs with written number words. A zero sign was added later, allowing decimal notation.
Historical and technical: a numeral used in Ahom writing.
Without an Ahom-capable font, it may appear as a box; the numeral still means nine.
