What ᭖ means
It contributes six in a Balinese number.
Balinese writing grew from Indian traditions through Kawi, an older Javanese script that shaped both Balinese and Javanese. Penataran Sasih has clay marks; a Blanjong monument combines Devanagari (an Indian script) and Old Balinese forms. Sembiran inscriptions dated AD 922–1181 record calendar, social, economic, and religious affairs. Later media were stone, lontar (palm-leaf books), paper, and digital text.
In 2025, the Library of Congress revised the typeface and glyphs in its Balinese reference chart after display issues. Fonts can draw ᭖ differently; a box means the font lacks Balinese support.

Questions people ask
1Why does ᭖ show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the Balinese block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
