What 𖧫 means
It is a historical Bamum letter from Phase E.
The earliest documented Bamum writing, called Lerewa, was completed around 1897 under King Njoya and his royal advisers. Early signs represented objects and actions.
Bamum writing recorded administration, education, history, medicine, maps, correspondence, and stories. In a passage, the surrounding signs supply a letter’s reading.
Why is 𖧫 called Phase E?
Phase E names one historical stage in a chain of Bamum revisions.
The script was revised repeatedly: signs were removed or given new values as it shifted from picture-like writing toward a syllabary. Phase E falls around 1907–1908 in that revision chain.
Phase G is the later repertoire used in modern Bamum writing, so this Phase-E letter belongs to an earlier stage.
What if someone sends 𖧫 alone?
If it arrives alone, its intended message is unclear.
Treat it as a reference to Bamum writing, then ask the sender for context before giving it a personal reading.
