What 𖦛 means
It belongs to Phase E, a historical stage of Bamum writing.
Bamum writing developed around 1896, when Ibrahim Njoya and palace scribes created it to record the Bamum language and knowledge. Revisions led to Phase E, known in Bamum as Rii Nyi Mfw' Men, around 1907–1908.
The script shifted from picture-like signs toward syllabic writing, where a sign stands for a syllable. Some Phase-E signs helped distinguish words by tone, the pitch pattern of the voice, when the words otherwise sounded alike. The Bamum Supplement preserves historical characters outside modern Bamum spelling, chiefly for linguistic and historical study.
Archival and linguistic in tone.
