Why does 柺 have a separate code?
It preserves a legacy source-code distinction. Unicode retained it for converting text to and from Taiwan's CNS 11643-1992 character set without losing the old plane-3 entry T3-2D35. Normalization, a standard text-cleanup step, maps it to 柺. To preserve the designated glyph distinction, use the standardized sequence 柺︀ (U67FA UFE00) in software that supports it.
