What 瑜 means
It represents the same Han character as 瑜.
The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese character dictionary completed in 100 CE, defines 瑜 as fine jade. Classical Chinese sources also use the word for jade’s sheen and, figuratively, for excellence.
When should I use 瑜 instead?
Use 瑜 in ordinary writing.
This code point exists so text from Taiwan’s CNS 11643-1992 character set can be converted to Unicode and back. Unicode says it should not be used for another purpose.

1Will Unicode normalization preserve 瑜?
