What 䔫 means
It maps to 䔫, a variant of 蔬. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education variant dictionary lists 䔫 under 蔬, which it defines as edible herbaceous plants.
Why does 䔫 have its own code?
It preserves a source-character distinction during conversion. Unicode’s chart ties it to the TF-5164 source in CNS 11643-1992, Taiwan’s standard for encoding Chinese characters. A round trip converts text from that standard to Unicode and back without losing which source character it used. For ordinary writing, use 䔫.

Questions people ask
1Why does 䔫 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Compatibility Ideographs Supplement block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
