What 跰 means
It is a compatibility form of 跰.
Classical sources give 跰 several senses: running off, standing with the feet together, and walking unsteadily. Zhuangzi describes an unsteady walk; the Han-era Taixuan Jing uses 跰跰 for running off.
Unicode preserves source positions T7-2944 (Taiwan's CNS 11643-1992) and KP1-7B04 (North Korea's KPS 10721-2000).
Why does 跰 change to 跰?
Unicode normalization maps it to 跰.
Normalization is Unicode's standard text cleanup; every form maps 跰 to 跰. Use 跰 in ordinary writing; retain 跰 only when the original encoded position matters.
