What 賈 means
A Korean Hanja encoding duplicate of 賈, not a new meaning. 賈 appears in Shang-era oracle-bone and bronze inscriptions; readings of some early forms remain disputed. In later Chinese use, 賈 linked to trade, merchants and a surname.
KS X 1001:1998 kept Korean readings separate: F903 was 고 (roughly ko); 賈 was 가 (roughly ka). Unicode kept F903 for source-set round trips. Use 賈 in new text; reserve 賈 for source preservation.

1Why does 賈 become 賈?
Text normalization, which standardizes equivalent characters, can turn 賈 into 賈 and erase the source distinction. A standardized variation sequence, an added selector, can preserve the display form when supported.
