What 量 means
Enter F97E in an editor with Unicode-hex input.
Use an editor that offers Unicode-hex entry, then run its conversion command; the shortcut varies by app. Check the saved text if an application normalizes characters.
What does 量 mean?
It has the meaning of 量: measure, amount, or capacity.
The much older character 量 has a weighing sense in Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary, and the dictionary records 𨤥 as an older graphic form. A bronze measuring vessel from China’s Warring States period has a nine-line inscription setting volume standards, dated between 404 and 385 BCE. This is evidence for the older 量 tradition, not for the later compatibility character.
The compatibility character was included in Korea’s KS X 1001 text standard so older Korean text could round-trip through Unicode. It preserves a legacy source distinction, not a separate meaning.
Why does 量 change to 量?
Unicode normalization maps it to 量.
All four Unicode normalization forms map 量 to 量. The two forms may look alike on screen even though the stored text differs, so normalization can change the data without an obvious visual change.
In Korean, 量 is Hanja, a Chinese character used in Korean. It is read 량 in some Sino-Korean compounds and 양 in compounds with native or borrowed words; the reading depends on how the word is formed.
Technical or legacy-data form; ordinary Chinese, Japanese, and Korean writing normally uses 量.
If the source needs this exact form, check that normalization has not changed 量 to 量.

1Does 量︀ keep the original character?
No. This variation sequence asks for a particular glyph appearance for 量. It can preserve that appearance, but the text still uses 量 rather than the compatibility character 量.
