What 﨔 means
It writes けやき, the Japanese name for the zelkova tree.
﨔 and 欅 write the same word in different forms. The right side of 﨔 uses 挙, the simplified Japanese form where 欅 has the older 擧.
A 1955 Japanese dictionary documented the broader practice of extending simplified forms to kanji outside the official list; the label extended shinjitai appeared in print by 1973. IBM 32/JIS-era character-set records include 﨔, tying it to Japanese typesetting and text interchange.
Is 﨔 the same as 欅?
Same Japanese word, different exact character.
欅 is the standard-form relative; 﨔 is another written form for けやき. 櫸 and 榉 are also listed as written variants of that Japanese tree name. Preserve the exact form when the source text matters.
How do I type 﨔?
Use a Japanese character table with JIS X 0213 support.
In JIS X 0213, its third-level entry is J3-757A. A Cangjie input method can enter it with 木火金手 (DFCQ).
It belongs in Japanese typography and exact-text preservation, where its written form matters.
A missing glyph may be a font issue; don't silently substitute 欅.

1Why is 﨔 not showing in my font?
If the active CJK font lacks this glyph, it may show a missing-character box or fallback form. That font rendering difference does not change the character.
