What 𠃡 means
It is a variant of 萬 for ten thousand. Traditional Chinese uses 萬; simplified Chinese and Japanese use 万.
A Chinese character-dictionary supplement, 字彙補, lists 𠃡 as an old form in 1666 and links it to the Buddha’s auspicious chest mark. Shang oracle-bone inscriptions already use 萬 for ten thousand. Its origin is disputed: one account sees a scorpion sign later borrowed by sound for the numeral; another reads the early numeral as a rhinoceros-like image. “Many” grew from the number sense.
