What 𠅽 means
The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese character dictionary, records 𣄴 and its two glosses. The book was completed in 100 CE; its final draft was presented in 121 CE. The Kangxi Dictionary says 𡮎 was originally written 𠅽; reference works link the “thin” sense to 涼 and list Mandarin readings liáng and liàng.

Questions people ask
1Is 𠅽 an insult?
Not necessarily. The classical gloss is disapproving, but the glyph alone cannot show whether a sender intended that historical sense; ask for the surrounding sentence or source.
