What 𠟫 means
Cutting something off or paring it away.
The Yupian (玉篇), a Chinese character dictionary first compiled in 543 CE and revised later, glosses 𠞉 “cut off” and “pare.” The Kangxi dictionary (1716) keeps “pare” for 𠟫; the earlier Shuowen dictionary (around 100 CE) has no 𠞉 entry.
Mandarin reading: lì. Japanese Sino-Japanese readings (kanji readings inherited from Chinese): ritsu and richi.
