What 𠳾 means
Different writing traditions gave it different jobs. Chinese links 𠳾 to 喊, with Mandarin reading hǎn. Older Zhuang writing uses it for the word han, “answer” or “reply.” Zhuang is spoken in China's Guangxi region; its older square-character script, sawndip, adapted Chinese forms and components to write the language.
The broader Zhuang writing tradition appears in Tang inscriptions dated 682 and 697. In older use, people wrote Zhuang folk songs and stories in it. Shanxi merchants’ Chinese–Mongolian phrasebooks also used 𠳾 to spell the Mongolian syllable xaa(n); the manuscripts include one dated 1796–1820.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𠳾 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
