What 𠼡 means
It is the same Chinese character as 疇, read chóu in Mandarin. The Shuowen Jiezi, an early dictionary of Chinese characters, describes 疇 as a plot of land prepared for cultivation. Later references include field divisions, a class of things, someone’s equal, and the question word “who?”
The category sense survives in the Chinese compound 範疇 (“category” or “scope”); simplified Chinese writes 范畴.
Why might 𠼡 appear as a blank?
The active font may not cover its glyph. As of 2026-10-02, Taiwan's CNS11643 character database lists this glyph in the default fonts for Windows 10 and later. If it appears as an empty box elsewhere, the font in use may not contain it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𠼡 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
