What 𡃍 means
劍 supplies the sound, not the word “sword.”
Chữ Nôm is a historical Vietnamese writing system that adapted Chinese character forms to write Vietnamese words. In 𡃍, 口 (“mouth”) is the meaning clue and 劍 (“sword”) lends an approximate sound: Vietnamese kiếm shifts to gớm. A Nôm character dictionary cites 𡃍 for gớm in Truyện Kiều and other literary works.
A 1343 stone inscription includes chữ Nôm renderings of local names in a record of donations for a temple. It is an early witness for the wider writing system, not a date for 𡃍 itself.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𡃍 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
