What 𡿽 means

It means to patrol or go around inspecting, like 巡 (Mandarin xún).

The common form 巡 appears in compounds such as 巡視, meaning “inspection” or “patrol”; 𡿽 points to that same character.

Where is 𡿽 recorded?

A Ming-era character study records this form.

The study, Shuowen Changjian (說文長箋), describes 𡿽 as 巡’s old small-seal form rewritten stroke by stroke in standard writing. A dictionary supplement, Zihui Bu (字彙補), cites that entry.

1

Why does 𡿽 show as a box on some devices?

Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
