What 𢕭 means
It has two old glosses: “hidden” and “dangerous.”
In Mandarin, 𢕭 is read xiàn. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education cites a Yupian edition for “hidden”; Yupian is a Chinese character dictionary compiled in 543, a date for the book, not the character’s origin.
A later, Ming dynasty edition of the Sisheng Pianhai dictionary records “dangerous.”
