What 𢨯 means
Its dictionary gloss is opening a door.
The Chinese character dictionary 《字彙補》 records this exact form in its 1666 edition. The 1716 Kangxi Dictionary gives the Mandarin reading mǎo and the same door-opening sense; in Mandarin pinyin, mǎo sounds roughly like “maow,” with the pitch dipping and rising. Kangxi labels 𢨯 an erroneous form of 戼.
《說文解字》, an early Chinese dictionary, places the door-opening explanation under 卯: a door opens as things emerge in the second month of the traditional lunar calendar. Today 卯 is the fourth of the twelve Earthly Branches, traditional cycle signs. The forms meet in this dictionary history, but are not interchangeable.
Rare historical and reference-text register; it suits character study or faithful transcription of an old source.
Do not normalize 𢨯 to 卯; its Kangxi entry specifies 戼.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𢨯 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
