What 𢲻 means
Yes; 𢲻 is a documented variant form of 撮.
Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary, defines 撮 both as four tiny traditional measuring units called 圭 and as pinching with two fingers. Stone inscriptions from the Han–Wei periods of Chinese history already show 撮 with 㝡, an older written form of 最, on the right; 𢲻 keeps that component.
Why might 𢲻 show as a box?
Your active font may not include its glyph.
In 2024, Windows 10 and later included 𢲻 in their default PMingLiU and DFKai-SB Chinese fonts. Other fonts may lack it, so a blank box can signal missing font coverage; the encoded character stays the same.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𢲻 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
