What 𢷊 means
An archer’s leather armguard.
The Chinese encyclopedia Taiping Yulan, completed in 984, quotes a diagram book about bows and arrows for the Three Rites, three classic texts on Chinese ritual. It describes 𢷊 as red leather and links its name to the bowstring.
An archer wore the guard on the left forearm so the string would not scrape skin or catch a sleeve.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𢷊 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
