What 𢺕 means
“Tame” is a documented classical use.
The Eastern Han Chinese character dictionary Shuowen Jiezi defines the related graph 𢹎 as “to trouble.” It analyzes that graph as the hand component 手 plus 夒, a sound clue. The traditional character is 擾, its simplified counterpart is 扰; dictionaries list 𢺕 as a variant of 擾.
A scholar of Chinese writing in the Qing dynasty, Duan Yucai, notes that old books also use 𢺕 for “tame.” He treats this as a later extended use; in classical texts, 擾 can describe settling people or training and keeping animals.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𢺕 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
