What 𢺞 means
It inherits its core sense from 把.
The early Chinese character dictionary Shuowen Jiezi defines 把 as “grasp” and was completed in 100 CE. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education files 𢺞 under 把 in its 2024 variant dictionary, citing the Ming-era Zihui (1615) and Qing-era Zhengzitong (1671). The written variant is documented much later than its base character.
The 1716 Kangxi Dictionary says 𢺞 equals 把, yet calls the spelling with 扌, the left-hand mark for “hand,” nonstandard; it says the sound-indexed dictionary Jiyun uses 欛. These records disagree over whether this written form is proper, not over the core “grasp” sense.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𢺞 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
