What 𢺢 means
It is a historical variant of 擂, meaning grind or beat.
Earlier Chinese dictionaries define 擂 as grinding by hand. The Song dynasty’s Jiyun, a Chinese character dictionary arranged by pronunciation, records 𢺢 alongside 攂 for grinding and forceful drumming. Later dictionaries group these spellings under 擂 as variants of one hand-action word. Taiwan’s 2024 Ministry of Education Dictionary of Chinese Character Variants lists 𢺢 under 擂 and records Mandarin readings léi and lèi.
Historical variant; use 擂 in new Chinese prose unless preserving a source’s spelling.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𢺢 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
