What 𢺾 means
It is a variant form linked to a character glossed “hidden.”
The 2024 Taiwan Ministry of Education Dictionary of Chinese Character Variants lists 𢺾 under 𢼕.
That entry gives 𢼕 the Mandarin reading dǐ, “hidden,” and cites Longkan Shoujing, compiled in 997 to help readers study Buddhist scriptures.
Is 𢺾 a variant or a mistake?
The reference works disagree about this shape.
The Qing-era Kangxi Dictionary says the Ming-era Zihui dictionary inherited a mistake from another dictionary, Pianhai: the right-hand piece, or component, should be 攴, not 支, making 𢼕. Preserve the printed shape when transcribing an old edition.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𢺾 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
