What 𣋷 means
It is a variant of 曠, meaning “bright” or “clear.”
Mandarin reads 曠 as kuàng.
The Shuowen Jiezi, a Chinese character dictionary submitted in 121 CE, glosses 曠 as “bright”; later dictionaries add “broad,” “open,” and “empty.”
Why does 曠 describe summer?
It portrays a general’s mind adapting to change.
The Huainanzi’s military chapter matches the general’s mind to spring, summer, autumn, and winter, then says it moves with the times. The transmitted text reads 曠曠如夏; the Kangxi Dictionary cites 𣋷𣋷如夏.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𣋷 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
