What 𣳐 means
It is a rare Han character recorded for Taiwan's household-registration use. The Taiwan CNS 11643 record gives its Mandarin reading as nǚ (third tone).
A table of small-seal script—an early standardized style of Chinese writing—based on the Shuowen Jiezi, an early character dictionary, records this form under 泗. 泗 names a river in Shandong; Taiwan's Ministry of Education dictionary explains the name through the river's four headstreams. This historical form link does not make 𣳐 a modern spelling substitute for 泗.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𣳐 show as a box?
Probably a font-coverage issue. Taiwan's CNS 11643 record says the character is included in default fonts for Windows 10 and later; as of 2026-10-05, the character page still carries that note. Other devices may need a font that includes it.
