What 𣴯 means
Old dictionaries link it to a river and field channels.
The Han-era Shuowen Jiezi, an early character dictionary, describes 澮 as a river flowing from Huoshan to the Fen River and lists 𣴯 among its old forms. The 11th-century Song dictionary Jiyun repeats that link.
The Zhouli, a handbook of state rites, uses 澮 for field channels; in 澮, 氵 marks water and 會 supplies the sound.
