cjk unified ideograph-23fa2

Ying River character

16291/42720

𣾢 is a rare written variant of 潁 (simplified 颍), the name of the Ying River in China’s Henan and Anhui provinces. The early Chinese character dictionary Shuowen Jiezi defines 潁 as a river flowing into the Huai; a Buddhist character guide completed in 940 records this variant in 𣾢川 (“Ying River”). The same character also appears in prefecture names and as a surname.

Why does 𣾢 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
