What 𥊲 means
It is a rare form of 瞠, meaning “to stare directly.”
Taiwan’s Ministry of Education variant dictionary traces it to 龍龕手鑑, a 997 character dictionary for readers of Buddhist texts; later Song dictionaries also list it.
Both forms keep 目 (“eye”). The right-side sound hint changes from 堂 in 瞠 to 棠 in 𥊲; both are pronounced táng in Mandarin. In Zhuangzi, an ancient Chinese text, Yan Hui can only stare after Confucius; 瞠乎其后 turns that scene into “fall far behind.”
A rare written variant with the same meaning as 瞠.
Use 瞠 for the familiar spelling.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𥊲 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
