What 𧰭 means
It points to 豚, traditionally “a small pig.”
Song-era Guangyun (1007–1008), a Chinese rhyme dictionary, lists 𧰭 as 豚. Older forms of 豚 appear on Shang-era oracle bones (animal bones used for divination) and early Western Zhou bronze vessels, not necessarily in this exact shape. In a 2024 study, scholar Chen Jian reads those inscriptions as fattened pigs for sacrifice; the early dictionary Shuowen instead defines 豚 as a small pig and links its form to meat held for ancestral rites.
