What 𨇏 means
Read 𨇏 as 蹉. In 蹉跎, the word means wasted time or a missed moment.
A 986 added entry in the Chinese character dictionary Shuowen Jiezi records it. In 1671, Zhengzitong calls it the regular-script form of 蹉’s seal-script shape. Seal script is an ancient Chinese style; regular script is the familiar standard style.
Classical sources also use 蹉 for an error, passing over something, or stepping on something; context tells these senses apart.
Why might 𨇏 show as a box?
Its display depends on font support. Taiwan’s CNS 11643 entry, checked in October 2026, says Windows 10 and later include the glyph in default fonts; a box elsewhere may mean the font lacks it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𨇏 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
