What 𨏳 means
Cart hardware means axle; wheel-motion wording means one turn.
The Yupian, a Chinese character dictionary compiled by Gu Yewang around 543, was expanded in the Tang dynasty and reworked in the Song dynasty. A Yuan dynasty printed copy places 𨏳 in its vehicle section and glosses it as “axle.”
The Jiyun, a Song dynasty dictionary arranged by rhyme (sound), gives a second sense: one full wheel turn, also written 巂. In context, a cart part points to “axle”; wording about a wheel making a complete turn points to the motion sense. Taiwan’s Ministry of Education gives the Mandarin reading xī.
