What 𩏫 means
Leather parts for an old horse-drawn carriage. The two glosses describe different jobs: leather bands join horse and carriage, while a stretched hide covers the carriage body and closes its gaps.
How old is the dictionary trail?
The related headword 轖 is recorded around 100 CE. The early Chinese dictionary Shuowen Jiezi includes it; a later commentary explains it as leather crossed over the carriage body. The sixth-century Yùpiān (543) records 𩏫 as another form of 𩍙. The Song-era Guangyun (1008) preserves the strap gloss.
