What 𩚪 means
It is a variant of 餌, the character for bait and food.
The 1716 Kangxi Dictionary identifies this form with 饵. Japanese character references also list 𩚪 as a variant of 餌; in Japanese, 餌 is read えさ (esa) for bait or feed.
The Shuowen Jiezi (說文解字), an early Chinese character dictionary from the Eastern Han (25–220 CE), glosses 餌 as a rice-flour cake. The same word also names animal bait and, figuratively, something used to entice a person. In 餌, 食 means food and 耳 cues the sound.
Why does 𩚪 show as a box?
Your font or app may not include its glyph.
This ideograph sits in a supplementary CJK range. A font without its glyph may show a box or replacement mark while the underlying character remains intact. In UTF-16, one 𩚪 takes two 16-bit units, so older software that treats each unit as a separate character can mishandle it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𩚪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
