What 𩛺 means
Thick porridge or gruel. The Kangxi Dictionary cites the Yupian, a Chinese character dictionary completed in 543, for this gloss; its Mandarin reading is jú.
Why do old Chinese dictionaries use 饘 and 餰?
They are regional names for thick gruel. The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary completed around 100 CE, says speakers in Zhou called it 饘, while those in Song and Wei used 餰. The Yupian later glosses 𩛺 as 饘.
How was 𩛺 read in Korean?
A Korean rhyme book lists it under 국. Dongguk Jeongun, published in 1448, grouped Chinese characters by their Korean readings to help standardize pronunciation.

1Why does 𩛺 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
