What 𩫭 means
Yes: it writes the same Chinese word in an older form.
Use the Copy button for this exact glyph; typing 堵 gives the ordinary character.
The earliest secure record of this form is in Shuowen Jiezi, an Eastern Han character dictionary dated 121 CE. It labels 𩫭 “Zhou script,” an older writing form of 堵. The label refers to the lost Shǐ Zhòu Piān, a book for teaching written characters traditionally attributed to a Zhou court scribe; scholars dispute its date and authorship. Shuowen says five building boards stacked high counted as one 堵, a wall measure.
𩫭 is historical; use 堵 for ordinary modern Chinese writing.
