𩬓

39700/42720

𩬓 is a historical Chinese character whose dictionary trail leads to 鬇, used in 鬇鬡 for disheveled hair or a beard. In 1716, the Kangxi Dictionary reports that the earlier 《篇海》 treated 𩬓 as equivalent to 鬇, then identifies it as a mistaken form of 𩫿. The Taiwan Ministry of Education's 2024 dictionary lists 𩫿 as a variant of 鬇.

Why does 𩬓 show as a box on some devices?
