What 𩯷 means
The related form 𩯰 appears in an early dictionary. Around 100 CE, Shuowen Jiezi, an early dictionary of Chinese characters, defines 𩯰 as hair tied into a small bundle. The Song dynasty rhyme dictionary Guangyun (1008) also gives the sense of a topknot worn without a head covering. Chinese dictionaries equate 𩯷 with 䰏; Taiwan's Ministry of Education lists 䰏 as a variant of 𩯰.
Why might the character show as a box?
The active font may not contain the glyph. Taiwan's official CNS 11643 character record says Windows 10 and later include it in default fonts (2024). If your font lacks CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B coverage, the character can appear as a blank box while the text still contains 𩯷.

1Why does 𩯷 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
