What 𩾢 means
Two dictionary traditions connect it to different characters.
The Kangxi Dictionary quotes the Tangyun (751) and Jiyun (1039), two rhyme dictionaries—reference books that group characters by sound—for yì, linking it to 隿, a character for shooting birds with an arrow attached to a cord. A later dictionary, Zhengzitong (1671), reads a line in the seasonal calendar Xiaxiaozheng (“the kite calls in the twelfth month”) as yuān and links 𩾢 to 鳶, the kite, a bird of prey. These are separate historical links, not one meaning that changed over time.

1Why does 𩾢 sometimes show as a box?
A font gap. Unicode Standard 18.0 describes Extension B as rare and historic. If an app's font lacks this glyph, it may show a missing-character box even though the text still contains 𩾢.
