What 𪋸 means
𪋸 is a form of 麛, the Chinese character for a fawn. The Kangxi Dictionary, completed in 1716, cites the 1615 Zihui as equating them.
The Erya, a glossary compiled from material spanning the fifth to first centuries BCE, lists 麛 as a deer’s young. Submitted in 121 CE, Shuowen Jiezi defines it the same way and analyzes it as 鹿 (deer) plus 弭, a sound cue.
The 1716 Kangxi Dictionary also applies 麛 to newborn animals generally. A related form, 麑, appears in the Analects phrase 麑裘, a coat made of fawn fur.
