What 𪌐 means
The meaning is stable; the dictionaries trace the spellings differently.
Longkan Shoujian was made to explain characters in Buddhist texts. Yùpiān (玉篇), a Chinese character dictionary first compiled in 543, records 䴸 as a customary form of 麩. The later Kangxi Dictionary calls 𪌐 a mistaken form of 䴸, while Taiwan’s Ministry of Education treats 𪌐 itself as a variant of 麩. These records keep the bran meaning but connect the written forms in different ways.
