What 𪒬 means
It means black or very dark; Cantonese sources also record “burnt.” The Kangxi Dictionary cites the Yupian (玉篇), a Chinese character dictionary first compiled in 543, for the blackness gloss. Yupian was revised, so 543 dates its first compilation, not a surviving copy of this entry. The Guangyun (廣韻), a rhyme dictionary grouping characters by sound, was compiled in 1007–1008 and records 𪒒𪒬 as “black-colored.” The form pairs 黑 (“black”) with 農, a sound clue for Mandarin nóng. A Cantonese dictionary (1996) records the burnt/scorched sense and notes the usual spelling 燶.

1Why does 𪒬 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
