What 𪔎 means
𪔎 is a written variant of 鼓, the Chinese character for “drum.” The Kangxi Dictionary quotes 字彙補, a dictionary supplement, as equating the forms, and notes 𪔎 in 阿閦佛經, a Buddhist sutra.
鼓 names a drum used in music, ceremonies, and military signals. An early dictionary, 說文解字, explains the form as a drum and a hand striking it. 鼓 also means “beat” or “rouse”; a Chinese text from the sixth century CE uses it for one of five periods dividing the night.
