What 𪗿 means
It means bone-crunching teeth: first the noise, then the action.
The Shuowen Jiezi, a Chinese character dictionary compiled around 100 CE, records the sound. It analyzes the graph as 齒 (“tooth”) plus 列 as a sound clue. The Jiyun, a Chinese rhyme dictionary from the 11th century, also glosses it as splitting bone with the teeth.
Why might 𪗿 show as a box?
The active font may not contain its glyph.
Unicode 18.0 (2026) says software without a font for an assigned character may show a placeholder. A box can mean a display gap, not a different character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𪗿 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension B block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
