What 𪟂 means
It writes chém, the Vietnamese verb for chopping or cutting.
Chữ Nôm is Vietnam’s historical writing system. A Vietnamese Nôm dictionary, Tự Điển Chữ Nôm Dẫn Giải, records the glyph in verses about cutting bamboo and branches, and labels “chém cha” an insult.
How does 𪟂 relate to 㓠?
In Vietnamese Nôm sources, 㓠 is another spelling of 𪟂.
Chinese dictionaries gloss 㓠 as a cut or jade flaw, now written 玷. The Eastern Han Shuowen Jiezi (around 100 CE) explains it as knife (刀) plus sound sign 占. It quotes the Book of Songs: a flaw in white jade can be polished, but a flaw in speech cannot. Old Zhuang dictionaries record 㓠 as deb, “cut grain.”

1Why does 𪟂 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
